Booster Patrol Retrospective #5

Posted on July 17, 2026

Proud To Be A Boomer

Our eleventh Boomer Patrol song was recorded & released in December 2021. It’s a parody version of Lee Greenwood’s God Bless The USA. Vox wrote the lyrics, I sang and played.

The original idea was for Owen to sing the track, but after a few attempts we all agreed that he wasn’t set-up to record high-quality vocals to an already-produced track, at least not at that time.

If tomorrow all the things were gone
I’d worked for all my life
Except my 401
My pension, and my second wife
I’d thank my lucky stars
That I am me instead of you
I’ve got my generation
And Bob Dylan and The Who

And I’m proud to be a Boomer
‘Cause this world was made for me.
And The Beatles were the greatest band
In human history.
I’ll gladly stand up, lecture you,
And tell you ’bout my youth
Cause there ain’t no doubt I love myself
God knows that is the truth!

Proud To Be A Boomer

In 2025 I created a video for the song. It was the first non-Booster video, which entailed setting up the Boomer Patrol and Vaxx Trax YouTube accounts.

Shoot Any Booster

Our third Vaxx Trax song was recorded & released in January 2022. It’s a parody version of The Shamen’s Move Any Mountain. Vox wrote the lyrics and sang lead, I played and sang backup.

And no, I’d never heard of it, either.

So you know that any vaxx is capable of boosting
Pfizer and the new generation are improving
You can be what you want to be
Shoot a one, shoot a two, and then you boost a three
Whatever kind, we max the vaxx
Then take it all the way and wax the tracks
With a ride that’s smoother than a Japanese cruiser
That’s why I can shoot any booster

Shoot Any Booster

In 2025 I created a video for the song, complete with a very special ‘guest performer’ for the rap section.

The Best Thing That Ever Happened

Our fourth and final Vaxx Trax song (provided that ‘they’ don’t ever reattempt that COVID trick again) was recorded & released in January 2022. It’s a parody version of Meredith Brooks’ song Bitch.

The song is based on an unpleasant interaction on the Scott Adams podcast between him and a viewer named Shelly. Scott was defending his choice to take the vaxx as the correct decision given the data available at the time. Shelly (and the rest of us Purebloods) disagreed. Ultimately, he chose poorly, which is a shame.

Anyway, Vox wrote the lyrics quoting liberally from that podcast. He sang lead, I did the music.

Warning: This song is brutally NSFW!

I hate the world tonight
Shelly said that I was wrong, but I was right
Tried to tell you, but you seem to think that maybe
I said something incorrect – I say you project

Don’t hallucinate
If you think I’m wrong, I’ll just equivocate
I can understand how you’d be so confused
I don’t envy you
I’m a prophet and an oracle of perfect persuasion

You’re a bitch, you’re a c**t, you’re cognitive dissonant
You’re a nasty human stain and you should be ashamed
You’re a total narcissist, you f***ing piece of s**t
And so you’d better shut up, go the hell away!

The Best Thing That Ever Happened

Note: we later recorded a straight cover of the song with Rachel singing lead, and an added guitar solo. That’ll show up in Booster Patrol Retrospective #14, or you can just go watch it on YouTube right now (a throwdown ‘temporary’ video until such time as we make a proper one).
